Members Suicide Posted November 27, 2011 Members Report Posted November 27, 2011 Hi folks, Can you please suggest me any sources of heavy and fairly thick latigo sole leather with a good quality and resonable prices? As I need to get it to Europe, so I'd prefer any of European sources. But can consider US suppliers as well (if they ship to Europe of course). Thanks in advance! Quote

Latigo would not be my first choice for a shoe sole. If you are building shoes I would use Herman Oak 12-14 oz material. Quote
Moderator Art Posted November 28, 2011 Moderator Report Posted November 28, 2011 Since the terms Latigo and Sole Leather don't really go together, I'm at a loss to help you. However, if you want shoe leather (oak tanned) two companies come to mind. I don't know what you call reasonable prices, as oak tanned is always expensive, and the best. J R Leather J and FJ Baker Leather I like the Baker leather the best, even if somewhat harder to obtain. Members Suicide Posted November 28, 2011 Author Members Report Posted November 28, 2011 Thanks for your advices. Actually I meant moccasin's outer sole to build from the thick latigo. Sorry to confuse you by mixing these 2 terms together. Quote
Members JET4 Posted December 1, 2011 Members Report Posted December 1, 2011 I mainly use 12-14 oz latigo for most of the stuff I make. I get most of my leather from Panhandle Leather. Not sure if they will ship to Europe, but it wouldn't hurt to ask. 12-14 latigo is hard to find. There are not very many suppliers who carry it that thick. Most suppliers I've found stop at 10-12oz. Good Luck Quote
