Luke Hatley Report post Posted December 16, 2011 (edited) I would get a spool of 207 thread, mine works better with the smaller thread on the bobbin. I M H O ........ Have you thought about how you will mount the machine for sewing ? Edited December 16, 2011 by Luke Hatley
Denster Report post Posted December 17, 2011 What Luke said about using one size smaller in the bobbin. Having the extra pressor feet is very useful. I found though that the material guide and stirrup pad were not really necessary and sold mine.

Have you thought about how you will mount the machine for sewing ? For the moment it will be mounted to a piece of wood and c-clamped to a heavy oak table. I need to build a shop in the spring. I also have a portable work bench I want to try it on. What Luke said about using one size smaller in the bobbin. Having the extra pressor feet is very useful. I found though that the material guide and stirrup pad were not really necessary and sold mine. I figured I would not need the stirrup pad but as you said, what I dont use I can sell. Thanks guys Michael

TOM123 Report post Posted December 17, 2011 (edited) mlapaglia, some hate the boss but if you get to know it, it will work very good for you, con grads I use the stirrup pad all the time to get closer to the edge of the gun when making holsters also take a look at the LED light for the Boss it mount right above the needle and you can see right where the needle will go in at----"I like my light". good luck Tom Edited December 17, 2011 by TOM123
particle Report post Posted December 17, 2011 I also like the stirrup plate and never remove mine. I found when sewing avengers that the stirrup plate helped keep the holster flat to avoid the wrapped piece of leather tilting the piece up. The edge of the reinforcement rides along the edge of the plate and nothing binds up, provided you allow enough clearance between it and the stitch line at the bottom of the slide.
