Suicide Report post Posted January 17, 2012 (edited) Hi guys, I need to lace item's edge about 1 yard length with the double loop. I know what the TOTAL length of lace should be there, but it seems to be crazy to pull 7 yards of lace through the hole in the begining. So I'd like to split the lace. Is it there any sort of "general rule" what recommends the length of the one piece of strand for lacing an edge? Thanks in advance! Doc Reaper Report post Posted February 20, 2013 Measure the sides to be laced, times it by four, then double that answer.
electrathon Report post Posted February 21, 2013 I spread both arms and cut the lace, about 5' or so. If you have high quality lace you can get away with longer, crappy lace and you need to go shorter. Pulling it through the holes will wear it out. rcsaddles Report post Posted March 4, 2013 I grease my lace when doing edge braiding. That helps it slide better and reduces friction and wear on the lace.
