First image Report post Posted February 27, 2012 (edited) Please, Any help identifying this saddle. Judging by the bridle, breast collar and saddle it looks pretty old and nicely worn. my questions are 1- who made it. 2-is it dyed or painted, how do I tell 3-where would I find the larger conchos a couple are missing. 4-how many white parade saddles have you ever seen. 5-I am also missing one of the white tassels hanging off the serape,(i think the speeling is wrong) where could i find one. Thank you all for any information you may have. I just purchased this at an auction in Ontario Canada. dirtclod Report post Posted February 27, 2012 It looks like a Ted Flowers saddle, but i'm not sure if he made white saddles. http://www.paradesaddlearchive.com/saddle.html
catskin Report post Posted February 28, 2012 As to how many white parade saddles I've seen. LOTS, they are not rare by many means. At least in my limited experiance. (about 60 years ) The one you have looks very good by the way.
Leatherimages Report post Posted February 28, 2012 <is it dyed or painted, how do I tell> I haven't been reading the posts recently that seem to discuss this same question, so I don't know what other people are saying. But with my 40+ years I can say there is no such thing as White dye. It could only be a top coat of color so opaque that none of the natural (probably) russet color of the leather will show through.
