WinterBear Report post Posted March 23, 2012 Knut, as far as I know currently, the injection molded variety are made by Oasis Canteens here is the US, and I don't know of any other suppliers outside of a Chinese supplier that requires a cargo container's worth. Oasis Canteen's US website is (http://oasiscanteens.com/products.html). They are slightly less at Cal Camp (http://www.calcamp.com/product_reviews.php?cPath=21&products_id=39). I'm afraid I don't know of any suppliers in your neck of the woods, so I'm afraid shipping might eat you alive, regardless.

No suppliers on this side of the Atlantic; I have to import saddle trees and hardware, so I guess I can take the cost of shipping a couple of boy scout canteens too. / Knut
WinterBear Report post Posted March 23, 2012 Well, at least a couple of canteens will weight less than a saddle tree. You planning to make some leather-covered canteens? I'd love to see them when you are done.

oldtimer Report post Posted March 24, 2012 (edited) Knut i found some here. http://www.legendaryarms.com/meca.html I searched civil war canteen you may be able to find some more. Thank´s ! I will check if they will ship abroad. Stainless steel is clean. I bought a cheap Chinese canteen made of aluminum and it had a terrible smell inside that couldn´t be removed even after I boiled it for a long while, so it went straight into the metal recycling. / Knut PS canteen ordered!
