Contributing Member Jordan Posted July 11, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted July 11, 2008 I finally got confirmation from the farmers market for a booth. Two days ago, it starts tomorrow morning. I really didn't want to spend any money for leather and such before I knew for sure. But they cut it close! luckily I have been making items slowly over the last few weeks so I do have some inventory. Anyway here is a couple of check covers I completed about an hour ago. Quote
Contributing Member rdb Posted July 12, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted July 12, 2008 Nice job Jordan. I like the basketweaved one, and I like how you used the old x/seed stamp as a border. Hope you do well with the stall, and most of all have fun. Quote

Members nick Posted July 12, 2008 Members Report Posted July 12, 2008 Those look great! I especially like the musical note theme. Hopefully someday, my attempts will look as professionl as your finished products. Quote

Contributing Member Jordan Posted July 13, 2008 Author Contributing Member Report Posted July 13, 2008 Thanks for the positive notes. I did ok for the first day of the market, wristbands and cell cases sold real well and a lot of interest in my rendition of sandals. Now if every Saturday thru September is as good it will be worth the costs. It would appear that the younger people don't know what a checkbook cover is! LOL. I guess they are happy giving their money over to the electronic controls of the banks, but thats a whole nuther paranoid rant of mine! I will be busy restocking this week. It appears that my items with religious icons may cause some difficulty with some closed minded customers and the organizers, apparently it opens the door to groups with other views, to demand the right to preach their doctrines. I may need to cover them with paper, like they cover cosmo and other magazines in the supermarkets around here, jeez what a place. :soapbox: Quote
Contributing Member Jordan Posted July 13, 2008 Author Contributing Member Report Posted July 13, 2008 (edited) Psst! meet me in that dark alley at midnight and I can sell you that book cover you need! As a self proclaimed Artisy type that is troubling on soooo many levels. Edited July 13, 2008 by Jordan Quote
