I found a neat pattern at Leather Wranglers, a swivel knife holster by Kathy Flanagan.

http://www.leatherwr...s.com/tips.html

For some reason it really got my attention, so had to make one. Made four all told, since I have never carved before, and was using 2 oz. leather, and cut all the way through in places when beveling . Trial and error....

When I finished, I put deer skin on the back of one and some faux hide from Tandy on another, to give them some body, then made one from 6-7 oz. Been practicing antiquing and carving, so figured I'd try it.

I haven't tried lacing yet, was going to sew them, but I like them this way. I'll have to try lacing one of these days...

Nothing like Kathy Flanagan's work, but my Tandy swivel knives like them.

Not proud of my work, just wanted to show a neat swivel knife holster pattern.

Hello Charlie,

So I am in the process of making one for my swivel knives now. I also came across Kathy Flanagan's SK-3 Swivel Knife Holster.

Did you glue yours together instead of lacing like she did? By chance do you know what size punch hole she used to make the holes to lace? I can not find any patterns out there that show step by step what to do. Oh and you should be proud of your work you did a great job.

This is an old thread.

Charlie hasn't been around since March 2016.

I figured I would give it a try and see......Oh well

well maybe I can help a lacing chisel is what you need for punching lacing holes they come in different widths to match your lace. I glue it up before lacing i'm sure someone will follow up with their own methods also as leatherwork is not written in stone lol.
