ok guys forgive my ignorance, but I have seen several seats posted on here and dont see how any of them look like motorcycle seats. I have owned bikes and not one of them have had a seat like anything I have seen here. I think the designs look great it is the thiness of the seat that is confusing me. I would appreciate a explanation or maybe a pic with the seat on a bike. I am failing to see how the seats would be very comfortable. Thanks for your replies in advance.

I'll try this one, for Chad, Chad try visiting some of the sites for manufacturers of Old School style rigid bikes. These seats are spring mounted not mounted to the frame like what you are used to seeing. Therefore an inch of padding is enough .... not the 4 or 5 inches that your bike has.

Chad, this seat will have 1.5 inches of neoprene foam, it will be comfortable.

here's a pic of the seat pan and foam, this is the thickest seat i made .

i make my own seat pans and they're made to fit the bike they go on.

i made a seat for a man that weights in over 300 + lbs and 6'6' tall, that was a huge seat and weighed a lot, it only has 1.25 inches of foam and he loves it.

I also redid my seat on my softail, it has a Corbin plastic seat pan and very thin padding, i replaced the cover with tooled leather and left the padding as is , but the seat is very comfortable and i can ride for days with no problem
