Members ElVaqueroMuerto Posted July 25, 2008 Author Members Report Posted July 25, 2008 Amazing use of color, I cant believe how vivid and striking the colors are, I love the graphics, it really jumps out at you.Very nicely done, I would be very happy to own a pair like that. Good job! Why thank you. I really try to make my work as high-contrast as possible. I come from a miniature painting and illustrator background, so that is why I think it all comes out the way it does. Quote

Contributing Member UKRay Posted July 25, 2008 Contributing Member Report Posted July 25, 2008 I'd add a request for the pattern too if it is available. Cool use of colour and the shape is great. Members calanneh Posted July 28, 2008 Members Report Posted July 28, 2008 Wonderful pieces!! The construction looks great! Some things you may want to make sure of in pieces like these (even tho I see nothing wrong in the picture) is the edges being slicked and the insides being sanded so they are soft. The lace holes are lined up very nice with a groove...there is just nothing in the picture that can be critiqued buddy! Thank look great!!!! cal Quote William Tandy Store #17 800-772-2629 Union City, CA
TomSwede Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Outstanding pieces of art!! The way you work with "living" backgrounds and sorta make 'em to blend in as natural border towards the edges is very nice. Members ElVaqueroMuerto Posted August 7, 2008 Author Members Report Posted August 7, 2008 Why thank you. Right now I am trying to establish myself as a leather artist and really get known for my style of art and leather carving, so I am not currently putting out patterns. But sometime in the future, once I am established, I hope to do a whole book of patterns and projects! OMG those are beautiful!!! Members ElVaqueroMuerto Posted August 7, 2008 Author Members Report Posted August 7, 2008 It was great to meet you and see your work at your show. I hope to get together again sometime. I still have the dream of us Los Angeles area leather workers doing shows and such together. Also, I wanted to talk to you about cutting and dies and such because I would really like to be able to cut out my bracelets from the raw leather easier so I can focus more on the carving and color work. My number is 602.796.3995. Call any time.Just a note for everyone else, feel free to give me a call if you want to get together with another leather worker or have questions or tips or anything!
