cody1200 Report post Posted June 28, 2012 Hello, I have looking at buying my first sewing machine. I have researching differant makes I have beeen looking at the cowboy 4500, the tecsew 5100, and the cobra class 4. To me all of these machines look to have the same exact cases and all of the specs look to pretty much be the same. Are they all manufactured or assembled in the same place then just getting differant paint and stickers or are they actually differant?
Wizcrafts Report post Posted June 28, 2012 (edited) That question is best asked of the dealers who represent those brands. Others may have opinions, but sometimes the facts change. Edited June 28, 2012 by Wizcrafts
Art Report post Posted June 29, 2012 Specifications are going to be the same regardless. The machines are based on the Juki 441, you want this just for parts interchange. Sewing parts can be different, like feet and needle plates used to be on some of them, but overall, you can order parts from any parts house and make them fit. Stick to a standard size like 16.5 and 25 and you can get parts. A few things might be customized a bit, but generally a 441 is a 441 and everything can be made to fit. You might just want to base it on the dealer. If you like him, buy from him. Art Hello, I have looking at buying my first sewing machine. KAYAK45 Report post Posted July 3, 2012 I also chose the CB 4500 and could not be happier. It's not just the machine, but also the service by phone from Bob at Toledo industrial that I like. I'm confident the other dealers are good as well though. I also wanted the stainless steal feet and plates. In addition I have a couple of old Singer Sewing Machines and Bob's help has been great at a cost of say...ZERO! Just my 2 cents. Kevin
Art Report post Posted July 3, 2012 I have 8 Cobra machines in all sizes. The only thing I don't have is one of their patchers and the new splitter. They all run every time without problems. I can't say too much more than that, except the wife and the sewing club really like the Class 18 for quilting and other stuff. Good machines used by Top Saddlemakers (and Stolhman award winners) and top Holstermakers (John Bianchi to name just one). The other machines are also very good.
