Working On A Catcher

Need to change up. Tobacco pipes on hold-Welding set aside .

Chips from tree trimming in eye, yes wore googles. So i am in the process of doing this catcher.

Sill gluing the charms than lacing with feathers.

I do still have 2 tobacco pipe holders to do, but land clearing needs to be done after making

a rake to add to front of Loader

Now that's interesting. I have never seen a dream catcher done like that. Everyone I've seen as been done almost like one would make a fishnet.

I'll post one of the last "catchers" I did in sterling silver and pink tourmaline. I have one that is smaller than a dime but I can't find the picture at the moment.

Now that is small. Looks like wire and the same loop direction.

Yes mine are different. Never liked the one's I seen. If you rode horses

at a trot down an untraveled trail you will get a first hand look at a web.

To me that's what a catcher should look like. Done10 so far, one special.

Belongs to my Niece, she has cystic fibrous and is 5 years old. She claims

it stops bad dreams! When they star back up she straightens the feathes out

and they stop.

Who knows.

Yes, it's sterling silver wire. The inner wire is substantially smaller and more flexible than the ring and bale. I was hoping to find sterling silver feathers but all I can seem to find is those silver plated ones. It's hard to work with the fine wire because you really can't pull the silver wire tight enough to hid the loops. But it gives a good example of how I've always seen them done. I like the spiderweb style you've done... and yep... have ran into a few webs on the trail while on horseback.

I'm glad your niece can find some comfort in her catcher.... I am sure it works.

Started on the feathers. Had to stop, something was not feeling right.

So I will get back to it today.

The feathers is the hardest part. Laying them right.If the lace starts

to turn I have a way to keep it straight.This is for a boy so I have to keep

it from to fluffy. i do have some hawk feathers-owls and a few buzzard

feathers to work with. Well I am not going to use Buzzard feathers. they go

on my straw hat.

I also have blue jay and some nice woodpecker feathers.
