Members Bifrost Posted August 21, 2012 Members Report Posted August 21, 2012 Hi! Finally done with this one! I've been working with this on and off during the summer. First time I ever done something this big and the round handles was something I had never done before. I hope the customer will be happy with it. All critique is welcome. /Tommy Quote

Members MDC Posted August 22, 2012 Members Report Posted August 22, 2012 That is beautiful. I would like to make a range bag like that, just with shorter handles. Quote
Members Anacott Steel Posted August 22, 2012 Members Report Posted August 22, 2012 Really nice - carving and the colour. They will love it. Could you let us know how you went about bending the edges on the side panels so that they lay flat ? Quote
LNLeather Posted August 22, 2012 Report Posted August 22, 2012 I Totally agree with all comments above! Did you design that floral design? I love the way it flows on the straps... Great Job! Members Double U Leather Posted August 23, 2012 Members Report Posted August 23, 2012 Very nice indeed. I've got a purse order coming up soon, and I hope my construction turns out as well as yours. And of course, your tooling is awesome also. Good work. Quote
Members Bifrost Posted August 23, 2012 Author Members Report Posted August 23, 2012 Thanks for all the kind words! LNLeather: Yes, I drew the floral design myself. Anacott Steel: To bend the edges on the side panels I first did a V-groove around the edge. Then I skived the leather to about 1/2 of the thickness of the leather on the outside of the V-groove. Then I added some water with a sponge on the V-groove, and finally folded the edges 90 degrees. Maybe the picture below helps. /Tommy Quote
