Contributing Member Ferg Posted September 10, 2012 Contributing Member Report Posted September 10, 2012 I have two of them. One is nearing 60 years old the other is probably about 45. I file the anvil now and then, otherwise I have never done anything to them. Obviously cannot say that for the new ones but........ Don't bother with the cheapies. ferg I need a new rotary punch and was looking at the Osbourne 155, is it worth the money or are there better ones availble? Thanks Jeremy Quote

dirtclod Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 If you have a buffing wheel it wouldn't hurt to buff the tubes. If you don't they will stick in the leather till they slick up. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.

dirtclod Posted September 10, 2012 Report Posted September 10, 2012 I like the single tube ones the best. But they cost a lot more in the long run. Quote I'm old enough to know that i don't know everything.
Members Horrrk Posted September 10, 2012 Members Report Posted September 10, 2012 Yes Dirtclod..that hardly counts as a post..lolol I've typed more by my elbow hitting the keyboard.. Haha! Regards Phil Quote Being defeated isn't the worst thing in life..giving up, is..
Members J Hayes Posted September 11, 2012 Author Members Report Posted September 11, 2012 I like the single tube ones the best. But they cost a lot more in the long run. The single tube, 153, looks to have a bit deeper throat and the tubes appear longer than the ones on the rotating 155. Am I correct? Undoubtedly the single tube is stronger. Hmm, single tube may be the best as I really only use 2 sizes on my cheap punch anyway. Jeremy Quote
