Hi all

I'm looking to get a machine that will let me sew wallets, tablet and phone cases (3/4 doubled) as well as industrial felt and canvas. I may go a bit thicker for belts but I don't see that being an issue right now. I've found both the Adler 267 and the Reliable GC0618-1 relatively close to me and both for the same price. Is there a preference for one over the other?

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,

It's a tossup. The Adler of course is made in Germany very good quality but parts are very costly & any attachments you need will almost usually have to be handmade, the 618 is a very common machine, feet & parts are much lower cost & there's more of a selection.

We do stock some knockoff Adler feet but they still cost almost 2x as much as the more common 618 feet.

You might want to try sewing on both & see which one you like better.

I have a DA 267 , parts are no problem everything is avaiable, you get any feets and plates from Kwokhing.com very cheap. Of course you buy the Adler, do not be stubid.

Well, I picked up the Adler. I like the idea of it being made in Germany as well as the fact that the guy I bought it from restores machines and will help me out if anything is needed. I also picked up a Singer 29k for $50. The singer is completely restored but needs one part that I've sourced out for $32. Seemed to be too god of a deal to pass up!

Now to order a servo motor.
