Members srbonner Posted November 29, 2012 Members Report Posted November 29, 2012 Ok, this may be a stupid question, but its Thursday so I am going to ask it anyways. I do some of my layout and desin on the computer. I try to print it for the customer so they have an idea of what I am going to do. On some of my items I use the alphabet stamps from Tandy. What I would like to know is what is the name of that font. I cant seem to find it and would like my sample sheet to more clearly reflect the font Im going to use. Any ideas? Quote
Members HellfireJack Posted November 29, 2012 Members Report Posted November 29, 2012 Just email Tandy and ask them what font it is and also ask if they have a version to install on your computer. If they don't and you can't find a version online then you'll have to make your own. There are free font creation tools online. Quote
Members Cyberthrasher Posted November 29, 2012 Members Report Posted November 29, 2012 What application do you use for layout? You could just stamp all the letters into some leather, take a picture, then use some basic editing tools to make each letter it's own black image. I know with GIMP you could even then use that image as a "brush". Or, you could look around online for images of the stamps already in leather and use that instead to create your samples. Quote

Members EmbossingDieCompany Posted November 30, 2012 Members Report Posted November 30, 2012 You can also use "What the Font" to help identify fonts. Quote
Members LisaE Posted December 1, 2012 Members Report Posted December 1, 2012 Thank you for "What the Font". Great Idea !!! Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted December 1, 2012 Contributing Member Report Posted December 1, 2012 'Whatthefont' was unable to identify a [pretty good] scan of alphabet #2540. But, a bit of playing in a pic editor should give you pretty simple results ... get the font (whatever it's called), rotate it, re-size it ... whatever .. Quote
Members BigBuckLeather Posted December 3, 2012 Members Report Posted December 3, 2012 I use a similar font on PS. It was a download from dafont.com and its called WESTERN....I hope this helps. Best Regards Quote
