Members JRCHolsters Posted December 1, 2012 Members Report Posted December 1, 2012 I am always amazed at the grain of the holsters made from Horsehide, but this one really stands out. It is a P-1 Modified for the HK P30. It is Cordovan with Burgundy Highlights and Shark trim. Almost didn't want to send this one out. Quote
Members benlilly1 Posted December 1, 2012 Members Report Posted December 1, 2012 That IS beautiful grain...and a beautiful holster! Quote
Members BEARDOG Posted December 2, 2012 Members Report Posted December 2, 2012 Wow! that is awesome grain. Where do you get your horsehide from? I just got some to try from Springfield but it don't look anything like that! Quote
Members JRCHolsters Posted December 2, 2012 Author Members Report Posted December 2, 2012 Thank You, Benlilly, I appreciate it. Beardog, I bought a batch from Maverick Leather out of California. They got a shipment in from the tanner of hard rolled hides for me. I bought quite a few and i would say about 50% were like this. Quote
IngleGunLeather Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Wow. I've never really looked at horse hides much. I do like that and the way the grain makes a contrsting coloris amazing. Very nice craftsmanship. Quote
Members chiefjason Posted December 2, 2012 Members Report Posted December 2, 2012 I'm not a fan of horsehide. Just a personal thing. But that hide is stunning! Quote
Members JRCHolsters Posted December 2, 2012 Author Members Report Posted December 2, 2012 Thanks, It really is nice hide. It's a little tricky to get it to show up like this. I usually dye in two steps. Burgundy before and after molding. let it dry hard and the a light coat of Cordovan. Quote
