Eagle Crest Report post Posted January 9, 2013 My name is Wesley and ive been browsing on here for a while so I finally joined. Ive been wanting to make holsters for a while and was finally able to get some materials together. This was my first attempt. it didnt turn out exactly like i wanted but for my first attempt I was happy with it. My second one is already shaping up to be better than the first so i am even more excited. I can definitely see how this hobby could be extremely addictive. Let me know what you think. mlapaglia Report post Posted January 10, 2013 Wesley, For a first time it looks good. Your stitch line around the trigger side needs to be closer, You might want to consider leaving the bottom of the holster around the barrel open. This way water and debris does not collect in the bottom of the holster. Keep up the good work and wait until you see how much you have improved when you finish your 4th one. Eagle Crest Report post Posted January 10, 2013 Thanks for the comments. Yeah I didn't intend to stitch the bottom but got a little carried away with my holes. I'm almost finished with my second one and I have taken a lot more time on this one Ill post it up in the next few days when it's done. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can from you guys.
renegadelizard Report post Posted January 12, 2013 try not to get the leather as wet when you go to the molding stage..5-7 second dunk is all it needs, then let it sit for a bit
chiefjason Report post Posted January 13, 2013 Good first one. Try not to mold the trigger into the holster. No big deal with a revolver. But it might cause some problems with something like a Glock. Keep any and all retention away from the trigger.
