Members Wanderinstar Posted March 14, 2013 Members Report Posted March 14, 2013 Hi, I have just bought myself a set of cheap hole punches. How would I go about sharpening these? Quote
electrathon Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 Chuck them in the drill press, spin them and carefully file the edge with a very fine file. If they were better quality you would use a stone and not a file. Quote
Tree Reaper Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 I have sharpened these by hand starting with a file, then a stone, emery and then finish them off with polish on a felt wheel on a dremel. The ones I sharpened are sharp! Quote
Northmount Posted March 14, 2013 Report Posted March 14, 2013 If sharpening in a drill press, keep the file moving, else you are likely to damage the file teeth. Wears out the couple teeth you are using when you hold it in one spot. Use a light touch. Tom Quote
