Members Django57 Posted March 20, 2013 Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 Hi i am waiting for my order from LePrevo to arrive , i have quite a few tools on my order so when they arrive i will let you know but to be honest i don't have a comparison as this is my first tip toe into leather working . But as you say the prices are very good , somebody mentioned on this forum that they are mid-range and if they are that will suit me as i didn't want to spend a lot of money only to find i didn't enjoy working with leather (don't let my wife hear this she'd kill me). Members Matt S Posted March 20, 2013 Members Report Posted March 20, 2013 I have used them for tools and dye before. Prices are good (remrmber to add VAT); quality generally mid range (if no brand mentioned, assume Ivan) . Their order system is a bit of a faff and lead time a bit slow though. But they are honest and know what they are talking about. Quote
Members Bigfoot Posted March 22, 2013 Members Report Posted March 22, 2013 I think any tools from the main suppliers are pretty much the same...to get the best from them expect to have to sharpen/strop/tighten/adapt them etc but they do function. pro tool prices are a huge leap so just go budget and enjoy your creations...bet your friends wont know if they were pro tools you used or not! like matt s said, le prevos ordering system is a drag so if we all keep moaning, they might update it! Members Django57 Posted March 22, 2013 Members Report Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Nearly all the tools i need arrived today and i am reasonably happy with everything can't fault LePrevo my parcel was shipped Monday and came today , as far as quality of the tools i would definitely say mid-range the overstitch wheel is very flimsy and wanders of line a bit , i have posted my first attempt in the stitching section of the forum if you want a laugh . I still intend to get some better quality thread but Wenzel stuff is cheap to learn on ,as with most things and as you mentioned LePrevo's ordering is a bit of a ordeal i missed of the blades for the Clicker Knife but i think i will be able to buy them here , if i have any more comments on the tools i will post them here , Cheers Edited March 22, 2013 by Django57 Quote
