Members glockanator Posted March 25, 2013 Members Report Posted March 25, 2013 Just finishing this up. I don't see the practicality in it but the customer said " its for my zombie gun" Quote
Members shooter55 Posted March 25, 2013 Members Report Posted March 25, 2013 Wow....wouldn't want to run with this sidearm. Consider a thigh tie down? Very ingenious. Quote
Members glockanator Posted March 25, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 25, 2013 I suggested going with a tie down but he wants it the way it is. It actually is not as bad to walk around with as one would think. Quote
Members Colt Hammerless Posted March 25, 2013 Members Report Posted March 25, 2013 Fortunately he won't need to do much running. With zombies, a fast walk should suffice. Now, did you do the good salesman thing, and suggest a bandolier for all of the shells he'll need? Paul Quote
Members glockanator Posted March 25, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 25, 2013 I will now. Quote
Members glockanator Posted March 26, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 26, 2013 Thanks haystacker that means a lot Quote
Members glockanator Posted March 27, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 27, 2013 Aghh.. so the customer decided he wanted to have a black rig. The problem is that I have already finished the edges ( wax). If I dye it black as is what will happen to the edges? Quote
Members Haystacker Posted March 27, 2013 Members Report Posted March 27, 2013 Not sure. But I think any contrast may look ok. Try thinning the dye and see if you can get a grey color? Quote
Members Zooker Posted March 28, 2013 Members Report Posted March 28, 2013 That sure is different. You could do the vinegaroon. I think it would soak in from the inside. I am not saying this from experience, just a hypothesis from my playing with it. It is cool though. Quote
Members renegadelizard Posted March 28, 2013 Members Report Posted March 28, 2013 vinagroon will work, but i think i would lightly sand the edges again then re dye it...try angulus spirit dyes cut 5 to 1 with denatured alchohol. Quote
Members Dwight Posted March 28, 2013 Members Report Posted March 28, 2013 Unless you "really" got heavy on the wax, . . . black should work anyway, . . . at least that has been my experience. If you have light areas, . . . a light sanding with fine sandpaper stapled to a board is what I would use, . . . I have to admit, when I saw the title, I had to come over here and take a look, . . . I had visions of this great big hunk cut out of a full side of leather. Good job, . . . although I personally see no practicality to it, . . . but so much of the leather trade is just that, . . . things people want, . . . not necessary to their lives, . . . but "feel good" items. May God bless, Dwight Quote
Members glockanator Posted March 28, 2013 Author Members Report Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks everyone for the advice. Dwight that's what I was afraid if as well. I took inspiration from race gun holsters Quote
