Members Prince Posted January 19, 2008 Members Report Posted January 19, 2008 Well its coming along and should be finished in a day or two. Still have the lion head helmet, gauntlets, and legs and mostly just assembly is left. I think it'll look a lot better on the intended wearer. Every edge is slicked with edge coat by the way. More at http://Azmal.DeviantArt.com Busy busy. Glad to see the forum back and running full speed btw. Quote
ETW Grumpy Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Man that's really amazing stuff. I still think you should submit a resume to one of the movie companies to make costumes for them. Are the lions tooled then dyed? Post pics when you get the rest of it done. How much time do you have in this one? Quote
Members Prince Posted January 19, 2008 Author Members Report Posted January 19, 2008 Yes, tooled then dyed. I guess about 20 days so far. Thanks. Quote

Members Tina Posted January 20, 2008 Members Report Posted January 20, 2008 You really have to go out with your craft...Your fantasy and creations are amazing! Quote
Members Prince Posted January 20, 2008 Author Members Report Posted January 20, 2008 Go out huh? I hope to eventually but I don't mind to keep building my portfolio for now. I'll go where the money is though and I'm not sure what's out there for my small niche market. I'm wary of festivals; I'd hate to get stuck making hundreds of plain and simple belts pouches and bracers and so on for my income. I've got a small flow of clients and have been doing pretty well with that so far. Hopefully it stays consistent. I'm afraid I don't charge enough though. Even at 3500 per set of some of my base high end armor, so much time goes into it and materials too, lots of little unseen overhead too that seems to jump up and bite me every now and then. I dont see myself stopping any time soon though. Business sucks, I just wanna make cool stuff. Quote

I really have to wonder (in a good way) WHY someone wants it? I just kind of get the creeps thinking of someone wandering around wearing this! Is it for a play, or something? Is it a fetish thing? I mean you just GOTTA wonder about people! Quote

Yes, once I was to a renaissance fair, but the only "characters" I saw were skinny men in tights and poofy pants eating turkey drumsticks, and fat women in big dresses and bonnets. Quote

I mow my lawn in a suit similar to this. Mine is made out of hardened paydoh. Need less to say my neighbors love "Lawn Day" Quote
