Desert Moon Report post Posted June 19, 2013 Has anyone ever seen a mall kiosk that sells handmade leather items? I was wondering if it would be a viable business plan. I was thinking of simple easy to make items, keychains, bracelets, cell phone cases, plain and stamped and embossed belts(no carved too labor intentsive) and small pouches. If anyone has an opinion on why it would or would not work please post. Thanks
benlilly1 Report post Posted June 19, 2013 If you go into a mall, I've heard setting up booth is very expensive. You better sell a lot!
Desert Moon Report post Posted June 19, 2013 Yes it is $1500 a month includes everything, 8 million customers a year through the mall. Not sure if people would buy good quality stuff in mall or expect me to sell a belt for $15, which ain't happening.
Northmount Report post Posted June 19, 2013 Some malls will let you set up a table for a few days for a relatively minimal fee. Some malls may limit it to fit with a craft fair or some other promotional activity they are running. If they will let you do that for an average week, you should be able to test the waters and see what the customer response is like. We did this while when we were getting a computer biz up and running years ago when Compaq and HP were high priced and the little guy could build better computers and not be drastically under priced by the big guys. Once a month for 3 days at a time really helped with the exposure. Tom
