Members Murray Posted July 1, 2013 Members Report Posted July 1, 2013 Here is my rendition/imitation of a an Al Stohlman design. I modified the pattern to include the basket weave. The other departure that I made was the addition of the interior flap (for those pesky carbon transfer checks). A checkbook cover, fresh off the bench. Fully carved floral design with initial on the front cover, basket weave on the back cover. Inside is two types of pig hide - an Autumn-y suede split, and a deep brown (incredibly supple) lining leather. Then the whole thing got wrapped in dk brown double looped calf lace. Enjoy, and thanks for lookin'. Quote

electrathon Posted July 2, 2013 Report Posted July 2, 2013 Your tooling looks pretty nice. My biggest critique is to stop using round holes and punch slits instead. Also move the holes closer to the edge, it helps with the spider leg look and makes it look more "covered" along the edge. Aaron Quote
