I have someone asking for a holster that can be used both as in the waist band and outside. He wants to be able to completely remove the loops when it is used OWB. If I understand how to attach loops then it is like the drawing I posted. I have done a good deal of wood work and get this But how do I go from that to removing the loops entirely?? I'm baffled :dunno:

You have the right idea. Use the t nuts that you would put a brad through and an 6-32 screw it should fit in most snaps and can be removed

This tgread might help

do you have a drawing of the pattern you are going with. it would help answer your question if we knew what the holster looked like

Its just a standard pancake nothing special. The only trick was removing the loops entirely. You can see under the loops that it has slots for a belt. I really dont like the set up but they want something like it.

Glockanator. Thanks man. I was hoping for some way for him to remove the loops easier but your right the only way I see this going down would be if he took a screw driver to it remove the screw and remove the loops..

You will have to use some imagination with this drawing, . . . created with Windows paint, . . .

BUT, . . . basically you create a standard pancake holster, . . . nothing extra on that.

THEN, . . . you create a strap that would thread through the loops of the pancake, . . . and also hold on a swivel rivet, . . . a belt strap at each end, . . . converting it into an IWB holster with loops.

That strap goes around back (looping around each end of the holster) and snapping on the back to keep it secure.

Again, . . . crude drawing, . . . and it only shows one end. You do the drawing twice to get the full idea.

May God bless,

Dwight

Thanks GUYS and thank you for taking the time to do the drawing Dwight. Now stupid question number fifty. I have made IWB with one strap and that strap was integrated into the throat support so it was unable to pivot. Using the T nut and spaced wont the straps pivot around the t nut? Is it supposed to or are the straps supposed to be fixed? Hope that makes sense.

Alex

Added a simple drawing. So question is are those straps supposed to pivot?

If the strap.is righted down it will not move.

It doesn't really matter if it does pivot (I use snaps, . . . no TEE nuts) and all of mine pivot, . . . but once the belt is laced into the two straps, . . . gun inserted, . . . belt pulled taught, . . . it ain't going anywhere.

May God bless,

Dwight
