Braiding Videos Featuring Tim George Of Hamley & Co

Recommended Posts

Tim George of Hamley & Co. in Pendleton, OR is famous for his rawhide braiding.

On a slow evening the other night I found a couple of videos on Youtube showing him in action (let's say slow action) cutting strings, etc.

He's one of the best full time braiders.

If you do a search on Youtube you'll see he's featured in about five videos.

Cheers!

Holy cow, that is a big string cutter! Any idea where you'd get one of those or did he make it himself?

Tim built that cutter and mine. He is a very good braider. His cutter has the fine adjustment that the Hansen doesn't.

Does he ever sell them? I wonder how much one like that would cost...looks very nice...

He does sell them, give him a call. He's usually at Hamley's early in the day.

How does the fine tuning work? Since it does resembke the hansen which is what I own....its self explanatory obviously but how much of a benefit is it. Im having a hard time explaining what im trying to ask but ill post anyways and hope someone can understand what im asking.

The fine adjustment works by being able to adjust the depth a little without loosing it all together when the depth ring is let go. Not so critical on large string but does matter a lot on smaller string.

It was really cool. Its aggravating (probably the wrong word to use) more inspiring to see him do it with such ease and precision he makes it look simple.
