I should have two machines coming with complete heating apparatus, one for my show area and maybe on to sell. They were expensive though so don't know whether anyone would be as silly as me to pay what they cost. Anyone having a machine like this will know its worth and not sell cheaply. Here is a frontal view of one of the machines I'm collectiong tomorrow.

You've certainly got the Pearson bug Steve, when my mate is up and running with the casting I'm having some harness hard ware cast first Ill post the pictures of the harness and show you why you're not considered a harness maker in England unless you have a Pearson.

Steve,

That is by far the most complete Pearson 6 I have ever seen. What should someone expect to pay for a wax pot for on eof these machines. Every machine I've seen for sale is missing the wax pot. Do you have any that you would sell? Congratulations on your purchases! Take care! Post more. It's of your latest buys....

Hi Steve, I enjoy seeing your machine pictures as I need to learn a whole lot more about them as my BUSM no.6 is very much under used at present, if you happen to hear of a treadle here in the uk can you let me know as I want one but then I also want all the attachments I can find but then I would need to win the lottery as well. It seems to be some love the machines and others hate them, I like them as no brakes needed and they have more character than modern machines . I have wondered if you can put a slow motor on them but that is a different line of thought. We saw one being run on a stationary steam engine at a recent steam fair which was a little different but the chap knew nothing about the machine except it was old but it definitely was a BUSM machine as it was very similar to mine but I am not sure which model, couldn't get pictures as it was raining hard at the time. Sorry about the ramble but I have so many question they tend to arrive all at once.

HI thanks for writing. I am also always learning more about the no 6, very often learning it from posts and other times from the machines when they come with varying and sometimes strange things hanging off them! I learn as I go, Les in England would be the most knowledgeable of all things BUSMC. I find most people love the no 6, however there is no doubt that it has an old look and to people with more modern thinking it can look dated and therefore not going to be as good.... not the case though. Yes you can put a motor on them, I have several stands here with motor brackets and the heavy original BUSMC clutch mechanisms that bolt thru the treadle and yet another that uses the old 'line' clutch from when they were all in a row being run from power either below or from above. Main thing is to make sure the gearing is there for slow running, its too heavy to run fast for very long. Sorry that I can't help you with a treadle, I have a list of people that want them but they are just so difficult to source on there own. Best Regards Steve

HI Ralph, no problem getting a wax pot to you, I have a few, its the heating chambers that are hard to find.

thanks Les, I think a need a bit more than a no 6 to make me a harness maker..... look forward to seeing that casting enterprise in action.

Les

Don't forget me when you and your mate are casting hardware because me and my uncle will no doubt want a few bits and bobs. Especially harness fittings

Thanks

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but that is one beautiful complete machine there mate! I've used a couple and currently use a newer one at RM Williams with a motor and she's a beauty. I'd love one for myself one day!

Hi, nice to hear from you. Yes I love the Pearson no 6 with all the brass and copper still in place. I had two and wanted to sell the other one complete, however the buyer wouldn't pay the extra so I removed all the brass pots and tubing and it sits in its own spot all hooked up like a wiring loom. Will try to get a photo of it if anybody would like to purchase it. I have another 8 machines arriving shortly, some on treadles and some on powered bases that have been designed and made many years ago.....I find in really interesting to see how they did things in the past. Best Regards Steve
