Members GamberLeathercrafter Posted December 7, 2013 Members Report Posted December 7, 2013 I make quite a number of items and I like to incorporate these beautiful hand carved deer antler figurines into my designs, it actually helps with the sale of them. It also opens up new ideas for custom orders. Quote
Members MonicaJacobson Posted December 8, 2013 Members Report Posted December 8, 2013 Did you do the carving as well? Quote
Members GamberLeathercrafter Posted December 8, 2013 Author Members Report Posted December 8, 2013 Did you do the carving as well? No I do not, they are done for me and then I add they inspire me to put a bag, pouch or other design to them. Quote
Members MonicaJacobson Posted December 9, 2013 Members Report Posted December 9, 2013 I really like the idea. I have tried something similar, but I've tried to sew them on, rather than inlay them. I saw your other one in the gallery, and it was very nice, too. Anyway, I like your idea and your bag. Quote

Monica, if you want to try something really cool, listen up! Anything you buy from a thrift or other means and it seems to look like it cannot be mounted onto leather, imagine drilling into the object about 1/8" and then you can epoxy the two part threaded rivets, that's how I attach a lot of my things to the leather and if you have room for two of them, use one for the female end of a snap. Sounds harder then it is, believe me. Quote
Members MonicaJacobson Posted December 13, 2013 Members Report Posted December 13, 2013 Nice! Thanks for the tip! That sounds much easier. Quote
Members r lenna Posted January 11, 2014 Members Report Posted January 11, 2014 Very nice. I love both the bag, and the carving. Does your carver have a web site, I'd like to see more or both of your works. Rob Quote
