CountryStyle Report post Posted December 10, 2013 I just wanted to post some pictures of a maul I purchased from aliexpress.com for about $27. It is all stainless steel and nylon. When I got it I was actually impressed with the quality. It is a smaller maul, good for tooling. It is shown next to the medium sized maul I bought from Tandy. It took about two or three weeks to come in, but I think it was a good deal.

Jazznow Report post Posted December 11, 2013 How Heavy is it, compared to the tandy Maul?
CountryStyle Report post Posted December 12, 2013 For its size, it has a good heft to it (it is solid metal and nylon construction) but relative to the Tandy maul, it is lighter.
St8LineGunsmith Report post Posted December 12, 2013 well that is actually good to know because even the small Al Stohlman maul can weigh on your arm after swinging it a while a lighter maul can come in very useful when using seeders and other stamps that can penetrate through lighter weight leathers. and I just dont like using mallets or heavy mauls for stamping. if i need more force I can always swing harder
Dano1122 Report post Posted December 13, 2013 How do you like it for tooling? I saw this awhile ago and was on the fence about purchasing it!
CountryStyle Report post Posted December 30, 2013 I have now used this maul to make two wallets and I absolutely love it. Perfect size for general tooling. Doesn't get too heavy for the repeating tasks yet is heavy enough to give a good dead blow for say basket weave.
