benlilly1 Report post Posted December 16, 2013 A clutch or small bag would probably be a good bet. For the age maybe some color instead of earth tones and a little bling. Good luck!
makitmama Report post Posted December 16, 2013 either a kisslock clutch, or a plain tote bag. The easiest way to make a tote bag is to sew two rectangles together, square the corners, turn down the top edge, and attach straps. No lining, no fuss. You can get purse frames at hobby stores easily if you want to make a kisslock. Or, houseshoes.

TomG Report post Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Tandy's Library has downloadable patterns. Here's a link. I've made a couple of these and they are pretty straightforward. https://www.leathercraftlibrary.com/p-1225-2697-disco-bag-pattern-pak.aspx? makitmama Report post Posted December 16, 2013 or try some free easy patterns- I am all about free and easy! just remember if you are using a sewing pattern, that you don't need interfacing, batting, or overcast seams usually. http://www.mesewcrazy.com/2013/08/foldover-tote-sewing-tutorial.html http://www.molliemakes.com/projects/tutorial-tuesday-20-minute-tote-bag/
