VanDutch Report post Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Hey guys. Just started making a few things to start me off and this is my first weeks effort. Here are some photos of an Iphone case, slim wallet and business card case. I used 2mm & 1.6mm veg tanned. Stain is Fielbling's Antique Tan. I wanted to create items that looked aged so purposefully wasn't concerned with a perfect even finish. I am well aware of my little mistakes such as uneveness of the lettering etc.. I expect to make heaps of mistakes and learn from them... Apologise in advance of the poor photo quality. cheers Edited January 24, 2014 by VanDutch

WScott Report post Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) I agree. Some room for refinement, but that comes with time. With a name like Van Dutch I expect to see some pinstriping on some work! I would never show my first projects, they look like a five year old did them. But I keep them as reminders Edited January 24, 2014 by WScott
Bev478 Report post Posted January 24, 2014 Very good result for your first efforts, really like the colour. Being aware of your own mistakes means you will be able/willing to correct them next time. I'm with WScott - nobody will see my early attempts
VanDutch Report post Posted January 27, 2014 thanks for the feedback. Always room for improvement. Learning new things with every attempt.
ewleather Report post Posted January 28, 2014 I very much like the "aged/unrefined" look (as you can see on my first projects that I just posted). Nice work!
