Members Rastus Posted January 26, 2014 Members Report Posted January 26, 2014 I think maybe someone can help me here. I am wanting to run linen thread through my Landis 3. I'm going to run 7 up top and no. 6 below for saddle skirts etc..I'm wondering should I get right twist or left? Does it matter? I plan on using Campbell's wax pot wax but if there is something else I would be willing to try that as well. Any help is much appreciated! Quote
Members DavidL Posted January 30, 2014 Members Report Posted January 30, 2014 I do not know much about sewing machines so take my input with a grain of salt. The left twist is what I believe is for machine use, but I could be wrong. Hopefully a member with more knowledge will know Quote
Members TXAG Posted January 30, 2014 Members Report Posted January 30, 2014 There is another topic on here where someone said right-hand twist thread is for curved needle machines, fwiw... I think all my bonded nylon is left twist. I do have one spool that does not seem to have any twist at all...I need to replace it, but I can't find the same color. Quote
Moderator Wizcrafts Posted February 6, 2014 Moderator Report Posted February 6, 2014 All straight needle, single bobbin machines use left twist (Z) thread. Curved needle sole stitching machines use right twist, as do the right side needles on dual needle, vertical-axis-bobbin machines, if those bobbins rotate in the opposite direction (CCW) to the right hand bobbin. This can lead to confusion. Quote
