DianeWood Report post Posted January 28, 2014 Im wanting to have a clicker machine with dies to cut out horse tack pieces like headstalls breastcollars nosebands etc. Does anyone know where i can get all this from?
AndyL1 Report post Posted January 28, 2014 I had my dies made by Texas Custom Dies (see a banner above). They are awesome to work with and the dies are very good quality. I expect them to last a long time. For the clicker, I modified a shop press from Harbor Freight. Not sure if you'd like to go that route or an actual clicker. I couldn't point you in the right direction for a clicker. Cheers, Andy

Studio-N Report post Posted January 28, 2014 (edited) Artisan used to have a reasonably priced 10 ton hydraulic press, but it seem to have doubled in price since I last looked at it. I use the press from Weaver. I think there is a thread about someone selling one on here somewhere. Edited January 28, 2014 by Studio-N
DianeWood Report post Posted January 29, 2014 Andy, how did you modify your press machine from harbour freight?
APSaddlery Report post Posted February 3, 2014 Weaver has Clickers and also makes custom Dies. Never priced the dies so I couldn't give you any pricing info.
AndyL1 Report post Posted February 3, 2014 Andy, how did you modify your press machine from harbour freight? I cut off the ram rod (the steel cylinder hanging directly below the jack). Then welded two 1/2" thick steel plates, one to the bottom cross brace and the other to the top. Works great! I've since cut about two feet off the legs and have the press mounted to a workbench. I'll take some pictures and post them up tonight if I get a chance.

AndyL1 Report post Posted February 5, 2014 Ok thanks alot i would like to see pictures im thinking about doing this instead of buying a clicker machine but im just looking at the different options before i make any decision first. Here you go... as you can see I cut the legs down so it fits on my workbench. I left enough on the bottom so I can adjust the table up or down a notch for cutting or stamping. Works great! And of course I had to paint it black! ;-) Andy
Dink Report post Posted February 7, 2014 you can see some of the dies at www.prorodeooriginals.com
