Members wlg190861 Posted February 24, 2014 Members Report Posted February 24, 2014 I need information on where to get a needle for lacing. I have some 1/8" Kangaroo lace an, I'm trying to lace a project an , nothing is working. I have those needles you are suppose to screw the lace in, their not working. I have used those split needles in the past an I know there re junk. What kind of needle works best for you an where can I get one ? Thank you Dan Quote
electrathon Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 You want the needles that have a hole in them and one prong. The lace goes through the hole and then under the prong. Quote
Contributing Member Bob Blea Posted February 24, 2014 Contributing Member Report Posted February 24, 2014 I use the Tandy two prong needles for all my lacing, and have never had problems with them. Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted February 24, 2014 Contributing Member Report Posted February 24, 2014 Threaded. Always. Never met a lace that didn't work with them, long as you have the correct size (the XL latigo needle wont work well with 1/8" flat lace). Quote
Members WyomingSlick Posted February 25, 2014 Members Report Posted February 25, 2014 Just checking......you do know how to skive the end of the lacing to fit in the various needles, dont you? And how to trim the lace overhang in the flat needles prior to use? I have used all three types of needles mentioned above and they all work fine for me. Quote
