Boriqua Report post Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) I know sounds stupid maybe but ... I have never had occasion to make a long carved straight line but see work here like a chess board and I wonder how you carve a perfectly straight line. I thought holding a swivel knife against a straight edge but that can be right so any help would be appreciated. Thank you Alex Edited April 7, 2014 by Boriqua
electrathon Report post Posted April 7, 2014 You have it. A ruler, pressed down very snug, pull the knife along it.
cgleathercraft Report post Posted April 7, 2014 Could lightly scratch a guideline and freehand it....Possible but very (and I mean very) difficult. +1 for using some form of straight edge.

harrington Report post Posted April 8, 2014 Practice, sharp swivel knife, well cased leather, couple miles of straight lines and you'll be better.
