very nice, do you hae a pattern for this holster? I am fixing to make one for a S&W sigma myself, but if you have a pattern I would love to have it.

dbitting,

I made my own pattern by using the gun for my model. Fold a sheet of paper in half and center the sights of the gun on the paper and carefully lay the gun on its side on the paper and draw around the gun. Then draw another line 3/4 inch out from that line and make your pattern from that. I cut a paper holster that fits the gun and when I am satisfied or sometimes after the holster is made I cut my final pattern out of chopping matts that are generally used in the kitchen for cutting vegetables on. (You can pick them up at the dollar store) Then I have a pattern that will last for ever. That is the way I do with all my holsters. Just make sure that the magazine release is not covered with leather so that there is no pressure on it to release the magazine accidentally.

Good luck and happy tooling! :cowboy:

Hi,

I would place the belt loop a bit higher for better comfort in wearing the gun. I don't know how heavy the gun is, but I'm thinking the holster and gun will turn backwards. (I hope not)

Benavu, Thanks for the reply. I put it low on the gun to give it a higher ride which I find is what most people want. It is easier to conceal that way. I don't think it will turn the gun backwards.

Rohn, Thank you for the information you have given me. I am making a holster for my S&W based upon your design. I am letting it dry before dyeing it. When done, I will post a pic or two. One difference is that I am going to use a clip instead of belt loop.

Hi Rohn,

When your customers want it that way it's okay. I didn't want to critizise your work because that's okay. I hoped I could say more people made leathr items, espescially here in the Netherlands.

Nice holster....clean design and well put together...the belt loop will cause problems, it is not wide enough to support that gun being so high and heavy....it will wobble and eventualle lean out....it would need a heck of a stout gunbelt to half way work....try a Avenger style holster design, or make loopspace wider...a fold-over sweat shield will work as a belt loop and can be made fairly wide...always thinking a one piece loop ( part of the actual holster ) will last longer and work better...

You done well on the holsters, looks real good...we all just have to remember:

If we make a holster, it has to be safe !! In a extreme situation the gun owner has to trust his life to his gear and weapon !!

I don't believe that it will not work with these belt loops, unless you have a Wally World belt. That loop is wide enough for my 1 3/4 inch belt to fit. How much wider of a belt do you think you need? Any wider will not even fit through jeans belt loops. I don't carry that particular gun but I do carry with that same type of belt loop every day and have no problems.

I like that BW stamp. Here is one I made using that same stamp.

Rohn, I do too. I didn't want to overdo the decoration on it. I am still new at stamping and learning how to lay it out.
