Aurelie Report post Posted April 29, 2014 Hello, I'm already braiding with kangaroo or latigo leather and I'm thinking more and more about rawhide. My question is : where can I buy a good rawhide lace ? I already bought some tandy leather laces (not rawhide) and I wasn't very happy about the quality so is the rawhide lace coming from tandy can give a nice work ? If yes, is it necessary to split or bevel it ? If not, could you tell where you are buying your rawhide ? thanks for your help

rcsaddles Report post Posted April 30, 2014 Me too. Stern Tanning in Wisconsin is the only rawhide producer I know of but you have to cut the lace yourself.

Thanks rcsaddles for this address, I didn't know it. Are you using this rawhide for braiding ? Is it working well ?
rcsaddles Report post Posted May 1, 2014 I personally have not used any of this rawhide yet. I have four 18 inch disks on the way to use in a lace cutting workshop in Sheridan, Wy. on the 14th of May. A friend has used some and I remember that he likes it.
