I quick little project I did just for fun. Hand stitched. Horse hide with olive oil finish.

Looks nice. Oak leaves are one of my favorites.

Thanks for your comment eransh10! Actually, I put a final finish of Clearlac on it which darkened the knife cuts and tool impressions considerably. I haven't worked with horse hide too much. It's definitely different than cow.

Yeah. Horse is really different. Hard to case. Hard to carve. Easy to stitch. Takes dye differently. Looks good, though.

Yes'mmm, horse hide. I purchased a 20# box of scraps from Springfield Leather. I have used quite a bit of it in holster linings. It was definitely worth the purchase. Mighty fine folks there at Sprinfield Leather, too!

Im with Rohn, I naturally like the oak leaves too ! and even though horse might be harder, you did a nice job !
