shadowryder Report post Posted June 13, 2014 Hi can anyone tell me what is the best "needle" / tool to use when lacing seats bags etc with 3/8ths or 1/4 inch lace, I have used the needle things with the 2 prongs n they do my head in, the brass screw in ones well if the lace snaps real close you cannot un screw it outa the end of the needle. So can anyone give me any ideas please. Thankyou,,
oltoot Report post Posted June 13, 2014 I use 2 prongs successfully for about everything but the key is to skive and taper the lace to fit and then when using, pull the needle through and when the end breaks through pinch it and finish pulling on the lace rather than the needle. Thankyou,, If the lace breaks inside of a screw in type needle and there is not enough left to allow you to get it out.......heat the end of the needle so as to "cook" the leather left inside and then you can use a needle and some tapping....... to break up the dust/ash left and get it out
