Tanneries And Suppliers In Thailand, Southeast Asia And The Pacific Rim

Hi Y'all!

I'm relocating to Bangkok, Thailand at the end of September.

Unfortunately, I'm having almost ZERO luck finding tanneries and suppliers in Thailand, Southeast Asia, Japan, and anywhere else that makes economic sense.

So far, all I've found are the Tandy store in Australia, a similar store in Japan, and several Thai tanneries that supply chrome tanned leather. And that's it.

To date I have not found any source of the veg tanned leather I will need. Nor have I found a decent source for hardware and tools.

If anyone knows of good, reputable tanneries and suppliers that I can use, please, let me know.

HI ,There are literally hundreds of tanneries just east of Bangkok, they employ over 100,000 thais,

so maybe you need to look harder

Id say it will be easier once you hit the ground in bangkok as thais arent that internet savvy yet.

I dont think you have a problem finding a distributer or 2.

Im having trouble finding what im after here in australia, so im looking international and will seek out thai sources too

and let you know if i find anything.

Since arriving here on 20 September I have managed to find a number of potential suppliers in Bangkok, and have found some of the tanneries Dozen mentioned.

Part of my problem appears to have been the localization of google and other search engines. At least, that is the only explanation I can think for why the exact same search queries - and I do mean EXACT - that produced next to no results while I was still in Austria turn up many results here.

I'm rather busy the next few days, but will be happy to share what I've found once things settle down. Best thing would be to send me a private message that I can reply to.
