Members JoMama Posted August 29, 2014 Members Report Posted August 29, 2014 So I got some #92 and #138 black polyester (Solar Gaurd) from Superior Thread and the stuff is bleeding all over my yellow 40oz PVC material and leaving all kinds of fuzz balls that also bleed. Where do you guys get your thread that is not made in China like this "not so superior thread"? Quote
Moderator Wizcrafts Posted August 29, 2014 Moderator Report Posted August 29, 2014 I use Cowboy thread and Weaver's bonded nylon and bonded polyester. I don't notice any bleeding with either. Weaver thread is more expensive though. Quote
Members johnv474 Posted September 1, 2014 Members Report Posted September 1, 2014 Coats/Barbour is, I believe, the largest thread manufacturer. I am almost sure they are our supplier of Star thread, which is nylon. I have never heard of bleeding issues. If you do not know of a local source let me know and I'll see if I can help from here. Members JoMama Posted September 3, 2014 Author Members Report Posted September 3, 2014 Thanks for the replies. I contacted Coats and they recommended Ultra Dee and Dabond, since they use a better dye process that the chemicals in vinyl do not affect. Quote
Members ABC3 Posted September 9, 2014 Members Report Posted September 9, 2014 The Thread Exchange has been a good one for us. Quote
