egliderider, I appreciate the kind words from you and Mrs Monica! I may make two more of these one for each of my sons I can understand why there are some high priced swivel knives out there now as doing this one on a manual Lathe took some time.

Stealfdawg/Itch

Tennessee has some of the most beautiful riding in the country- LOVE your state- down there three times this summer- Maryville, Chattanooga, Nashville etc. Foot hills parkway, Tail of the Dragon...... Awesome! Some of the most friendly people too! (and a lot less SNOW.)

the bearing was a very small roller that I was lucky enough to find 4 of them so I need to make 3 more one more for me and 2 for my sons they will be half saddle vs the full ring one. Thanks for the kind words!

I made another one but put the swivel in the blade holder instead of the saddle and the thing was a failure the bearing needs to be a thrust bearing so it can rotate freely...shame really cause it was a comfortable size and shape....oh well back to work

Having dabbled in manual machine work, I am duly impressed. I wonder if you have acess to a knurl rolling machine in your shop? A little knurling on the barrel might improve your grip for those sharp turns on your leather patterns.

Nice job!

Michelle, thanks for the kind words one of the main reasons I decided to make the knife was the knurled barrel on my cheapo irritates, plus the larger diameter gives plenty to hold .

What size thrust bearing is needed? One of my flex shaft handpieces uses a pretty small thrust bearing, I can take a look Monday and get dimensions if you're interested at all.

Jeremy, thanks for the offer but I think I am going to convert it to a regular swivel saddle style knife come Monday.
