Grey Drakkon Report post Posted October 6, 2014 So my guy wanted a simple leather bracelet for his birthday, so I braided a cord...Well apparently he wanted something that would snap shut. Snaps are not simple, I informed him. He wanted them anyway. -_- Snaps also won't work with a thin braided cord, so I made a wider red background for the cord, slit it at both ends to put the braided cord through then pinched them in place with the snap, which is a celtic knot type. I did one practice snap since I had never done them before, It seems HUGE when snapped together, but I'll see if how he likes it tomorrow.

xStarkweather Report post Posted October 7, 2014 I had started playing with an alternative to a bulky snap on leather wristbands. Its a tab in slot design that I had experimented with, so far it has held up really well. I have been wearing mine for a few months now. There is no discomfort from the tab, and There is little wear and tear on the band itself. Like I said, No bulk or weight from the snap, The leather band stays the same thickness and seems to just run together from the outside. The two ends are under the band on the inside of the wrist. Grey Drakkon Report post Posted October 7, 2014 Clever idea! I had seen your post on that and thought about doing something similar, but I wasn't sure how well it held up. Thanks for the update! I'll give it a shot with my next one.
MonicaJacobson Report post Posted October 7, 2014 It looks nice! I love leatherworking - you almost always have something on hand to give people. It's pretty cool.
