HBARK Report post Posted October 17, 2014 I am looking for a source for nylon webbing for haybags. The webbing is fairly tight so that hay wouldn't be able to fall through.I have some material but I don't know where it came from.Maybe somebody knows where to get it. Treed Report post Posted October 17, 2014 Weaver Leather, I think Springfield leather carries it or any local canvas marine shop, many outlets on the internet
RobWN Report post Posted October 18, 2014 If you could use polyester webbing instead of nylon then you might check out 'Shipper's Supplies.' They have polyester webbing in 1"-4" widths, various colors, and their prices are very reasonable I believe. A few years ago I bought a 300' roll of 6000# 2" width webbing for less than $40.00. Many other associated items available from them as well. Just a satisfied customer here and I wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.
Colt W Knight Report post Posted October 23, 2014 My friend decided to make her own hay nets, and found that she could buy soccer netting inexpensively sold in bulk, by the foot, or in soccer goal size nets.
carver Report post Posted October 24, 2014 You will make yourself crazy trying to use webbing for this . Try net material . for smaller quantities ebay is probably your best source . it comes in 1 to 4 inch squares and soccer netting i would be the place to start although it may be a bit light if the bags will receive heavy use
HBARK Report post Posted October 24, 2014 I have found what I was looking for. What I found was nylon mesh webbing, the type that is used for tarps on trucks. This material lets a horse breathe if they put their head in the bag. The bags will be square and hold about a half bale.Dust can fall through but not the hay. Thanks to the replies
