JW,

It goes to a page that says that AOL Hometown has been shut down.

Art..........it is up an running. Make sure that you are not trying to view the site through AOL, as their servers only update once every 24 hours or so. Thanks, JW

I don't use AOL. I cleared my cache and history and tried again and it went to the same site. I also tried IE ( I use Firefox) and got the same thing.

I don't know why.

Art............I am not having a trouble getting the new site to open on IE. Thank You for letting me know that you are. I will check with the web guru and see what's up. JW

I had no problems in Firefox or IE. Haven't explored the whole site yet, but what I've seen so far looks good!

It opens fine for me in IE. Looks good! The pictures take a while to load (good old dial up here, but maybe some of your customers are on that still too). I don't know if they can come down in size a bit without reducing the quality too much. But it wasn't excessive. In other words I was willing to wait for them rather than clicking off and going elsewhere which I do if it takes TOO long. But you know, the term "mad cow" may have some unwanted connotations these days... :) Or, maybe it will bring more traffic to your site!!

My website has undergone a complete over haul. Stop by and tell me what you think.

www.madcowsaddles.com Thanks, JW

JW....I've been prowling around your site...it's very nice! Easy to negotiate. Added it to my Favorites. You look very familiar...I've probably seen you around the shows.

I had problems getting to it yesterday, but it seems to be working fine today. Great looking site, by the way!

Thank You to all for your input and comments. This is the first professionally designed site I have had for either our ranch or saddlery. I am sure there are things I will add, delete and improve upon as we go along.

Denise......as for the mad cow thing........I am the sort of feller that you need to have a sense of humor to be around. Not because I am particullarly humorous, but because a keen sense of humor and irony is required just to tolerate me. So.....I reckon if someone finds the name of my business offensive in some way, then they probably are not going to enjoy doing business with me any way. Thank You for your comments! JW

Sounds like a lot of the cowboys I know - including the one I married. We'd all get along just fine!

I am quite sure we'd all get along just dandy. I've always enjoyed visiting with our fellow North Americans from north of the border........especially those from Albertical,,,,where the east side's flat, the west side vertical. If your husband Rod is who I think he might be (besides a great tree maker), then I think I met once at Elko quite a few years back. Many Thanks, JW

Never heard that description of Alberta before. I like it! Nope, you wouldn't have met Rod at Elko since he has never been there. Know a bunch of people who go often though, and you know how it is - all those guys with hats and mustaches look alike...:)

Your website is not accessible to me, like ArtS, either in firefox, or IE. An AOL People Connection Page saying that AOL Hometown is closing down after Oct 31.

If you are no longer using AOL Hometown, and have set your domain up on another ISP, your Domain name is still linked to them. You really need to check on this. If you are getting it on your own machine, you should verify with other people's machines to assess. Pinging www.madcowsaddles.com comes up with an IP Address of 216.21.239.197, and constant Requests Timed Out.

rdb...........no worries my friend. My site is not hosted on AOL, and neither is my domain pointing that way. The new site was all put on new servers last night, and the domain was changed as well.

As indicated by the majority of folks being able to access the site just fine..............it will take another 24 hours for all servers around the country to update . Thanks, JW

I'm seeing the site just fine here. Sometimes new sites need 48 hours to get around the world DNS. Looking good, JW!
