What Machine Is This?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what model Singer this is? I'd like to find a product manual, but need a place to start first.

Thanks!

Looks like a Singer 111w with needle feed. It has no reverse.

Thanks for the information. It lead me to this video of a guy demonstrating a 111wsv71's capabilites. It looks like a pretty great machine.

when I look closer with an sharp eye - I think this could even be a 111 walking foot machine (not needle feed + even better) - do you have a shot from the backside?

I also have Singer 111 machine but with reverse (111G156) and it works nice nice nice and the condition s about the same as yours - as far as I can tell from the picture - and before I have restored it.

These are tough build machines - probably made in the 1940´s - 1950´s but parts are no problem.

How much do you have to pay for it?

Unfortunately I do not have any additional pictures yet. I'm going to go see the machine in person on Monday and will take several more pictures then. Anything in particular to look for while checking it out?

I´d check the condition of the timing belt and if you can turn the hand wheel w/o much resistance when the V-belt is off. Check it the tip of the hook is sharp and if parts are missing. I´d also test sew it if you have the chance to. Looks like the bobbin winder is missing.

I´m not sure but this looks like as if the foot lifter is air operated (check the air cylinder on the backside). So you may need an air compressor. But I think this can be removed if you don´t need it.

The model# is on the oval tag on the front.Constabulary is right on about everything,it looks to have an air foot lift & also a needle postion motor,is the motor 3-phase?At least parts & a manual are easy to get for it.For a manual try 111w155

To wrap up this thread, I never did get to see the machine in the photograph. Instead, I ended up with a Singer 111W155 that had been pulled off the production line. I am going to create a new thread dedicated to getting that machine back up and running and post some pictures of it. It's missing quite a bit, but I think it is still worthwhile to get it up and running.

Looks like a Singer 111w 151 needle feed. If you are interested I have made a full service video for a Juki LU 563 which is exactly the same as the 111w 155 walking foot except the Juki has reverse and a larger bobbin. This video is also appropriate for the 111w 151 too. See an excerpt at www.windhamcub.com and click on facebook.
