Help, Lookin' For A 4" Ruger Security Six Dummy Gun

Recommended Posts

Got a fellow that contacted me for a left handed holster for a 4" Ruger Security Six. Since he's in Florida and I'm in West Virginia, I'm gonna need a dummy gun for the holster but I can't seem to locate one.

Anybody here got a line on one? Is there something else I could use?

I'm British, and don't know much about guns, so I would be grateful if you would excuse me for asking this question

I've seen several Threads where people have used blue, dummy guns when making holsters - why can't you use a real one?

That can be a trick sometimes, zuludog, . . . with several thousand different makes / models / barrel lengths, . . . hard to have one of each, . . . but at 35 to 50 dollars each for "blue guns", . . . we can have one of each of the most popular ones. And the blue guns do an excellent job of mimicking the real one.

Snubbyfan, . . . let me look, . . . I might have a 3 inch, . . . with a little finageling, . . . it should work, . . . I'll be out in the shop maybe this afternoon, . . . and if I don't forget, . . . I'll check.

May God bless,

Dwight

Zulu dog, another reason for not using the real gun, let's say i have a customer in Florida that wants a holster and I live in Washington state. a couple of thousand miles a part. He can't ship me the gun with out a lot of hassle and expense beyond the cost of the holster. Even here in my own state of Washington we have a new law that says technically that a person can't even hand me a gun without doing a background check and for me to give it back to that person I would have to do a background check on them. In many cases it is easier to use a holster mold dummy gun or what ever you want to call them.Ihave even had customers willing to buy the blue gun because it is cheaper andeasier then trying to send a real gun back and fourth.
