LeatherCollector Report post Posted January 7, 2015 This is the hardest project I have tried to tackle. I got one side deconstructed last night and began to get some leather on the frame. Please don't be to critical it is my first attempt at something this complex!

LeatherCollector Report post Posted January 7, 2015 Awesome! I would love to get into upholstery work. Any resources that would help a beginner? Any tips? Buy a chair off craigslist and remove the upholstery. Work carefully as you remove the existing upholstery, salvaging hardware when possible and noting how the piece was constructed. Use the removed upholstery as a template when cutting the hide and assemble as you had removed it. The best advice is trial and error! There are lots of videos on youtube and posts on pinterest but nothing replaces learning by the old college try.

LeatherCollector Report post Posted January 8, 2015 Wanted to keep everyone up to date on the progress of the chair. I got another section done so I've completed the upholstery of one side and began the work on the other. Hopefully, I can get it completed by the weekend because my wife would like everything but the chair out of the living room . Obviously, far from perfect but I'm hopeful to learn as I start on the other side!
