Members gustavcn Posted January 14, 2015 Members Report Posted January 14, 2015 Hi! I am new at this forum. Started making wallets for myself almost two years ago, but this is the first wallet I have made for a customer. Quite happy with the result, but it's really thick. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I could slim it down a bit - other than the obvious, using a thinner leather..? Especially the cardholders, as I use four layers. There might be some topics of this other places on the forum, but I haven't really had time to check it out. Anyways, hope you like it /Torgrim Quote
Members Tramps Leatherworking Posted January 14, 2015 Members Report Posted January 14, 2015 Looks pretty good, thinner leather will work as you already mentioned --- I would also spend some time burnishing and finishing the edges... Quote
Members Rohn Posted January 14, 2015 Members Report Posted January 14, 2015 I agree with Tramp. Other than that it looks pretty good. Stitching looks nice. Quote
Members Realm13 Posted January 14, 2015 Members Report Posted January 14, 2015 Looks like a fine wallet. Your customer will be happy. As far as making it thinner could always skive the leather down. Quote
AndyL1 Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 You'll need to make the card slot pieces shape like a "T", as in notch the sides and stack them that way... kind of hard to explain without photos but there are threads on the topic within the forum. This way your pockets are all one layer of leather. Aside from that, nice job! Quote
Members SRDcrafted Posted January 27, 2015 Members Report Posted January 27, 2015 Great job. And kudos AndyL1 for your answer. You hit the nail on the head Quote
