Members Tastech Posted Monday at 11:36 AM Members Report Posted Monday at 11:36 AM I have seen the same machine with a different name. The machine in question i have seen was a Hugo Wertheim Melbourne . From my previous research i believe the machine was made under licence in melbourne. Hugo Werthiem also made smaller domestic machines and even piano's. Its been 5 years since i saw the machine and i really regret not buying it for $1200. If memory serves correct there was a recent post which has a picture of the Werthiem patcher . Quote

Members LansingDrive Posted Monday at 02:42 PM Members Report Posted Monday at 02:42 PM @Tastech Thanks for that, yes that is a great machine and very much like the ones pictured in my comment. I am really interested to learn who created the design for that type of machine and when Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted 4 hours ago Author Members Report Posted 4 hours ago Patent Elastic was the early name for the Claes I believe. They started in 1869. There have been about 15 plus manufactured of the shoepatcher with the early design like you see in front of you. Singer came out with a shoepatcher in 1877 and their design was new and unique. Adler came out with the 30 class in 1900 which was a copy of the UFA/ 29 class. Adler had an earlier design like the old shoepatchers which was a 29 class. I have one. Bradbury had a few shoepatcher designs starting in 1872. glenn Quote
