Members DTrap Posted February 4, 2015 Members Report Posted February 4, 2015 My brothers dog needed a new collar so I worked something up for him. I bought a strip of copper from the hardware store and cut, drilled, and sanded it to make some decoration for it. I also hand bent it in order make it fit over the leash attachment point. Used copper rivets but couldn't find any copper buckles. Then did some lacing along the outside of it. Also decided to work up a leash to kind of match it. Let me know what you guys think. Quote
Members Rohn Posted February 4, 2015 Members Report Posted February 4, 2015 Nice looking collar. Looks like you did a great job. Quote
Members capsterdog Posted February 5, 2015 Members Report Posted February 5, 2015 Looks very good and a good looking dog. Like how you incorporated other materials besides leather. Quote
Members DTrap Posted February 5, 2015 Author Members Report Posted February 5, 2015 Thanks guys. The dog is an American Bulldog. He is still just a pup. Only about a year and a half old. Quote
Members capsterdog Posted February 5, 2015 Members Report Posted February 5, 2015 Dogs are great!!! He will be the envy at the dog park! Quote
Members Redochre Posted February 7, 2015 Members Report Posted February 7, 2015 That's a pretty sweet looking collar! Did you use a finish on the copper? I've done a few copper inlays and found the copper tarnishes very quickly. Quote
Members DTrap Posted February 7, 2015 Author Members Report Posted February 7, 2015 Thanks and no I didn't put anything on the copper. It's already almost 2 months old in these pics and it is starting to tarnish a little but I like the look that it gets as it tarnishes. Gives it an aged old world type look I'm hoping. Quote
Fordpkup Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 Ok, now I have to make a dog collar. Really like yours. Quote
